Why recycle steel?
Steel is the most recycled material on Earth — and for good reason. Recycled steel uses up to 74% less energy than primary production, conserves iron ore, and dramatically reduces CO₂ emissions. At Hirbod Hana Steel, recycling isn’t a side activity — it’s the core of how we make Rebar.
Every bar that leaves our facility carries the embedded value of materials that would otherwise sit in landfills — given a new life as structural reinforcement in the buildings, bridges and infrastructure shaping the UAE and beyond.
PROCESS PIPELINE
From Scrap to Rebar — Six Stages
01
Scrap Collection
Recyclable steel scrap is gathered from industrial sites, demolition projects, and commercial sources across the UAE, then transported to our Hamriyah Free Zone facility.
02
Sorting & Inspection
Incoming scrap is sorted by grade and composition. Contaminants are removed to ensure consistent melt chemistry and final product quality.
03
Melting
Cleaned scrap is melted in an electric arc furnace at over 1,600°C, transforming solid scrap back into homogeneous liquid steel.
04
Refining
Molten steel is refined to remove impurities such as sulphur and phosphorus, and adjusted to the precise chemical composition required for structural rebar.
05
Casting & Rolling
Refined steel is continuously cast into billets and rolled into deformed rebar at controlled temperatures to develop the required mechanical properties.
06
Quality Control
Finished rebar is tested for tensile strength, elongation, bend performance and dimensional accuracy before bundling, tagging and dispatch.
Modern equipment, Traceable output
Our melting and rolling lines combine European-engineered hardware with rigorous in-process monitoring. Every billet is traceable to its melt heat, and every finished rebar bundle to its production batch — giving structural engineers full confidence in the material specified for their projects.

Industrial scale.
Environmental Conscience.
Our melting and rolling operations are engineered for efficiency — minimising emissions, conserving water, and maximising material recovery at every stage of the steel recycling chain.
