The production process in the rolling mill

Inside the Rolling Mill

Refined billets are reheated to over 1,100°C and passed through a sequence of rolling stands that progressively reduce cross-section and form the characteristic deformed surface ribs of structural rebar. Tight temperature and tension control deliver the consistent mechanical properties our customers depend on.

The bars are then controlled-cooled on a quench bed, cut to standard 12-metre lengths, bundled and tagged. See the finished Product Range.

Production Stages

01

Charging

Sorted scrap is loaded into the electric arc furnace.

02

Melting & Refining

Steel is melted, refined, and chemically adjusted to specification.

03

Continuous Casting

Liquid steel is cast into billets of consistent cross-section.

04

Reheating & Rolling

Billets are reheated and rolled into deformed rebar.

05

Cooling & Cutting

Bars are controlled-cooled and cut to standard lengths.

06

Inspection & Dispatch

Finished bars are tested, bundled, tagged and shipped.
